Key Benefits of Glasses-Free Vision

The Best Care for Your Eyes.

SMILE Pro

The newest laser. So gentle. So safe.

SMILE Pro

SMILE Pro (Small Incision Lenticule Extraction) is a
minimally invasive
laser procedure,
in which a
small piece of tissue inside the cornea is removed
to
correct refractive
errors.

€5,198 for both eyes

Advantages

  • Hardly any dry eyes
  • Minimal intervention without a flap
  • Fast healing

Disadvantages

  • Not yet suitable for farsightedness

Ideal for

Often the procedure of choice for nearsightedness up to -6 diopters (also in combination with
astigmatism).

Femto-LASIK

Versatile. Precise. Safe.

Femto-LASIK

With LASIK, a flap is created in the
cornea
(in
Femto-LASIK, this is done
using a laser), and the
underlying tissue is precisely reshaped to improve
vision.

Advantages

  • Highly precise
  • Suitable for almost all refractive errors
  • Only 1-day recovery

Disadvantages

  • Slightly increased risk of dry eyes

Ideal for

Almost all refractive errors, as long as the patient does not already suffer from dry eyes.

PRK

The Classic.

Photorefraktive Keratektomie

PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy) removes the
uppermost layer of
corneal cells before reshaping
the underlying tissue with a laser. This method
is ideal for thin corneas.

€3,278 for both eyes

Advantages

  • No flap required
  • Safe and precise correction

Disadvantages

  • Longer healing process

Ideal for

Patients with very thin corneas and mild refractive errors.

ICL Lens

Perfect Optics. For Advanced Vision.

ICL Linse

The ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) is placed in
front of the eye’s
natural lens and offers a
reversible option
for high refractive
errors or when
the cornea is not
suitable for laser surgery.

Prof Mehdi Shajari bei der Augen Operation mit ICL Linse

Advantages

  • Suitable for high refractive errors
  • Reversible
  • No risk of dry eyes

Disadvantages

  • Most expensive option

Frequently Asked Questions and Answers from Our Eye Doctors

For young adults, LASIK, SMILE, PRK, and ICL are the most proven options. The best procedure
for you depends on your prescription, corneal thickness, and personal preferences.
Our pre-examination helps determine the optimal method for your eyes.

2. How long do the results last?

The results are generally permanent. In rare cases, a slight enhancement may be needed,
especially if your vision changes over time.

The treatments are minimally painful and performed under local anesthesia.
After LASIK and SMILE, patients may experience mild dryness,
while PRK requires a longer healing period.

Most patients can resume work within a few days after LASIK or SMILE.
PRK requires a longer recovery time.
High-intensity sports should generally be avoided for about two weeks.

If your vision changes over time, we can usually perform an enhancement.
Alternatively, ICL (implantable lens) offers a reversible solution for long-term flexibility.

As with any procedure, there are some risks, but they are minimal.
Dry eyes, temporary glare effects, or halos are the most common side effects
and usually disappear within a few weeks.

Yes, for high prescriptions or special cases,
ICL (implantable lens) is an excellent option if laser procedures are not suitable.

Public health insurance typically does not cover refractive procedures.
However, private health insurers may reimburse part of the costs –
we are happy to advise you on this.
